We landed in Seoul after 11 hours on plane from Prague. The flight with Korean Air was fine-full of care, drinks, food-some quite strange e.g. rice with green tea, but why not :o)...The only trouble were Kuba´s too long limbs, he wasn´t able to fall asleep, because the space around was too small. First moments in South Korea were like "Are we really here?" and few seconds later we were sure. Yes, we are. Nobody understood our english, everybody on the other side had slant eyes, our mobiles didn´t work because of different frequencies, all the signs written in funny korean language and lots of more:o). We took the bus to the City centre, where we had booked the hostel before. Soul has more than 10mil. inhabitants and we (thanks excellent advice of one friend) found accomodation 5 minutes from Old Royal Palace Myeongjeongjeon and another 5 min. from Old river Cheyonggyecheon, Markets, etc. On the way to hostel we were accompanying by one good man, who showed us the building. Korean people are generally very willing and ready to please, the only barrier was language. You have to draw everything, use your body, mimicry, etc. to find out what´s the opening hours of some shop:o). Our room in Guest House was very tiny and the window had only 10x15 cm, you can see it on the pictures, but we had a room. We were confused with the time change so every night full of energy and most of the days sleepy but too curious to sleep. Seoul is really impressive city, at the first glance you thing "Ok, I am gonna to be lost, too big, too colonised, too complicated.", but don´t worry at all. Everything has it´s own system, subway has 8 lines but perfectly described in their language as well as in english. All tour guides have photos of places of interest with punctual description of ways, exits and time. We got every answers to our questions without asking and never got lost. Our days were full of fascination and when we were tired from city it was ´only´ one hour by subway towards periphery with beautiful parks and possible tracks to rocks with view points to country. Prices were lower than we expected-admission to Royal Palace 1.000Won-1USD, traditional dinner 7.000Won, Korean jersey 10.000Won, so you can afford lots of good and new unknown things. Cass is considered as a good beer and we had in our minds that the worst beer is no beer, their food is crazy burning your mouth and made us crying all the time...We felt and we were very different, especial Verca´s blond hair and blue eyes were at the centre of attention all the time, sometimes it was fun but sometimes exhausting, all the children pulling their parent´s jacket and point with little fingers towards us :o). We can recommend Soul to everybody, it was nice, well organised, interesting, friendly and exciting. Whether you decide to go or not and have some questions, don´t hesitate and write us:o) That´s all for now, we fly to NZ....
